14 hours of horseback riding in 2 days. to the amusement of my guide, i had to jump off once when my horse decided to bolt for a soccer goal (below) and had to go to hospital afterward. oops.

potosi, bolivia

did a tour of the old silver mines in potosi, bolivia. all of its silver long gone, miners still make a living there today chipping (and dinamiting) away at its rock walls to extract whatever minerals are leftover. the mines are poorly ventilated, if at all. a lady in my tour group lost her shit twenty minutes in and wanted to leave because she couldn't breathe. awful and eye-opening.
